In
this blog I have used the Alberto Cairo's tension wheel in order to
analyze beauty in infographics. This wheel is divided in two parts. The
first one collects all the characteristics that when predominate in some
infographic make it more complex and deeper. These are situated in
the top of the wheel, in the first half. Those features are for example
density, multidimensionality or novelty. On the other hand, in the
bottom of the wheel there are presented the characteristics that would
make to any infographic intelligible and shallower. In that case the
features would be lightness, unidimensionality or redundancy.
