Stolen innocence

Home of Hope responsible of tens of Syrian refugee children displaced in the armed conflict, estimate that two-thirds of infants have been sexually abused "not only in the streets, some in their homes too."
Syrian children are controlled by gangs of pedophiles


Between the walls of the Home of Hope, in west of Beirut, the children's laughter hides a tragedy. The small Khaldoum, three years old, who the police rescued him a year ago with his brother when they went to sell their organs to a mafia.

In Lebanon, 53 percent of infants refugees have been exposed to all kinds of abuse, especially sexual, and criminal networks traffic with their bodies.

"His family was raising them to sell their organs", said Maher Tarabani, director of Home of Hope . 

He added that "these situations are only exploited by unscrupulous people".

Abdallah, a Syrian boy of 10 years, was a victim of his own father. He was sold to pedophiles. Charged them in front of family, asked him to leave the house and invited men going with the kid to the bathroom, where they raped him by turns. While the father was listening.

After three days of violations encouraged by his father, Abdallah fled and ended up being picked up by the police and sent to the Home of Hope.

 Mustafa, 13 years old, is another Syrian refugee who is in the group home after being abandoned by his family. Upon reaching the Lebanese capital with his father, stepmother and two brothers UN headquarters in Lebanon gave them a grant of $300 for each displaced.

  1. Situations like this are so sad, children should have some kind of protection in order to save their childhood and, more important, their live.
    Sexual abuses are also a common thing in Spain, eventhough we think this situations don't happen in our nearest more people that we could imagine has been involved in this situation.
    So I think that all the children around the world should be protected in order to avoid this crime happenings. Society has to change to better but if the people that does this cruel things don't open their eyes it would be difficult to save lives and protect people from bad situations.
    It's good to talk about this things to bring them to light!

    1. Hello Anna. I think too that we should have more conscience in this type of situations when they are taking place near us because when people is suffering around is it is easier to can help them.
